Derek Klyhn
Derek works with leaders of PSFs to help them be more effective in achieving their goals. He has a particular focus on strategy, leadership, business development and practice economics. Since co-founding the Møller PSF Group he has worked with over 20 firms including Magic Circle and Silver Circle law firms, the Big Four and mid-tier accounting firms, major international consulting firms as well as national firms in the UK and the rest of Europe.

Derek spent the first 15 years of his career at Ernst & Young as a fee-earning accountant and adviser working with fast growth owner managed businesses and listed companies undertaking major transactions. Subsequently, as Ernst & Young's Director of Planning and Research he helped develop the firm’s international positioning, pioneered the firm’s business planning and research process and also established the first national client care programme within a Big Four accounting firm. Later, as E&Y’s Marketing and Business Development Director for fast-growth entrepreneurial businesses, he was responsible for the launch of the Entrepreneur of the Year (EoY) awards in the UK, the firm’s most successful integrated sales and marketing programme, as well initiating the inaugural World EoY awards programme.
More recently, Derek was the Marketing Director at Mazars, the international accounting and advisory firm. Whilst in that role he successfully rolled out a number of projects ranging from vision, values and market positioning initiatives through to the launch of a number of new business development approaches and innovative sales programmes.
In additional to being a Chartered Accountant, Derek has an MBA, with distinction, from London Business School.
