Des Woods
Des specialises in leadership development, team performance and the strategic development of professional firms. He has designed and implemented strategically aligned change and leadership programmes on a global scale across many market sectors. Areas include legal services, accounting and consulting professional services and within retail, telecoms, aerospace and hi-tech sectors.
Des has particular expertise in the design and use of case based teaching. He uses simulated learning and assessment techniques and has pioneered the use of experiential learning techniques in management development and training.
Des was Head of Professional and Organisation Development at Linklaters, a leading global law firm. Previously he spent many years with Ernst & Young, a global accounting and consulting firm. He was variously, HR Director, Head of O.D. and Head of Learning for the firm. He has also held senior roles and directorships with a number of large UK retail and Telecom businesses including Sears, Adams Childrenswear and Telewest Plc.
Des regularly teaches at postgraduate level at University College London and with the BPP Business School as well as contributing to Executive Education programmes at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. As a member of the Executive Education faculty at the Judge and at the Møller Centre, Cambridge, Des participates in partner level international programmes. He regularly participates in partner and senior associate programmes for a number of professional firm clients including global accounting and law firms.
